Description
Production of float glass involves the pouring of molten glass from a furnace onto a large shallow bath of molten tin. The glass floats on the molten tin, spreading out and forming level, parallel surfaces with the thickness controlled by the speed at which the solidifying glass is drawn off the tin bath. The glass then travels through an annealing lehr where the cooling processes continues under controlled conditions and emerges as one long continuous ribbon after which it is then cut to suit customer requirements.
Rider Glass clear float glass is colorless and transparent thereby providing a high degree of visible light transmittance.
Characteristics;
High light transmission
Optical clarity
Can be further fabricated into reflective, low-E, laminated, security, insulating, heat-treated, curve and ceramic decorated glass.
